El molde de fundici\u00f3n est\u00e1 fabricado con materiales met\u00e1licos, como hierro fundido, acero al carbono o acero de baja aleaci\u00f3n. Bajo la acci\u00f3n de la gravedad, el metal fundido llena la cavidad del molde met\u00e1lico y se enfr\u00eda para formar una pieza fundida. En la fundici\u00f3n en molde permanente se pueden utilizar n\u00facleos met\u00e1licos o de arena en lugar de n\u00facleos met\u00e1licos dif\u00edciles de extraer. El molde met\u00e1lico puede reutilizarse repetidamente. La pieza fundida presenta una estructura compacta, buenas propiedades mec\u00e1nicas y una buena precisi\u00f3n y calidad superficial.<\/p>\n<h2>Fundici\u00f3n en molde permanente<\/h2>\n<p>Los moldes permanentes permiten producir grandes cantidades de piezas con dimensiones repetibles mediante moldes mecanizados a partir de aluminio fundido. Por el contrario, los moldes de cera perdida y los de arena se destruyen al extraer la pieza. Y durante la fundici\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n, el metal fundido se inyecta en los moldes a presiones extremadamente altas. Por consiguiente, los moldes deben dise\u00f1arse para soportar estas presiones, lo que aumenta dr\u00e1sticamente el coste en comparaci\u00f3n con los moldes permanentes de llenado por gravedad.<\/p>\n<p>Las piezas fundidas en molde permanente pueden fabricarse con microestructuras uniformes y no porosas, pero estas cualidades dependen en gran medida de las velocidades de solidificaci\u00f3n y del dise\u00f1o de los utillajes de fundici\u00f3n. Los moldes deben dise\u00f1arse cuidadosamente, de modo que los canales de alimentaci\u00f3n, los conductos de ventilaci\u00f3n y los conductos de subida funcionen en conjunto para que el metal llene completamente el molde con un flujo suave y controlado.<\/p>\n<p>El dise\u00f1o y la ubicaci\u00f3n de los canales de colada y las entradas son fundamentales para garantizar un flujo laminar controlado del metal hacia el molde y una alimentaci\u00f3n adecuada a todas las secciones de la pieza fundida.
