Cuando el espesor de la chapa fundida y laminada es mayor, debido a la diferencia de temperatura existente entre las superficies superior e inferior de la masa fundida en la zona de fundici\u00f3n y laminaci\u00f3n, la temperatura de la superficie superior es ligeramente superior a la de la superficie inferior, lo que desplaza la l\u00ednea central de la estructura cristalina y provoca una asimetr\u00eda entre las estructuras superior e inferior. Para garantizar la simetr\u00eda de la estructura superior e inferior, se mejoran la organizaci\u00f3n del posprocesamiento y el rendimiento del proceso de la chapa laminada en caliente, y el ventilador de la boquilla superior se retrae una cierta distancia al montar el\u00a0puntas de fundici\u00f3n y boquilla<\/a>. El extremo delantero de la oreja est\u00e1 inclinado adecuadamente hacia el exterior con respecto a los dos extremos de la boquilla de colada, y forma un \u00e1ngulo determinado con dichos extremos, lo que facilita que la chapa laminada en colada se extraiga de la boquilla. El tama\u00f1o del \u00e1ngulo incluido var\u00eda en funci\u00f3n de los requisitos de fundici\u00f3n y laminaci\u00f3n, siendo generalmente de 15\u00b0, 30\u00b0 y 45\u00b0. El uso de orejas de 45\u00b0 puede reducir o eliminar el fen\u00f3meno de agrietamiento de los bordes en las chapas laminadas en caliente, especialmente en las de aluminio puro, y reducir la cantidad de recorte en las posteriores pasadas de laminaci\u00f3n en fr\u00edo, mejorando as\u00ed el rendimiento; sin embargo, las tiras laminadas en caliente tienden a expandirse hacia ambos lados y por los bordes.
