En t\u00e9rminos generales, la temperatura de fundici\u00f3n del aluminio primario se controla en torno a los 730 \u2103 o incluso menos. La fluidez de la aleaci\u00f3n de aluminio es, en consecuencia, inferior a la del aluminio primario, situ\u00e1ndose entre los 710 \u2103 y los 730 \u2103. Para su uso directo en la unidad de aluminio l\u00edquido de la c\u00e9lula electrol\u00edtica, cuando el aluminio l\u00edquido a alta temperatura entra en el horno de mezcla, debe mezclarse a tiempo con material fr\u00edo, es decir, a\u00f1adir aluminio de menor calidad, escoria de aluminio, etc., al horno de mezcla y mantenimiento, o bien se puede a\u00f1adir al horno por adelantado una parte de la aleaci\u00f3n intermedia.
