Las inclusiones de gran tama\u00f1o, que son demasiado grandes para atravesar el canal, quedan retenidas en la superficie del filtro. A medida que aumenta la cantidad de inclusiones, estas se acumulan en la superficie de la l\u00e1mina filtrante y forman gradualmente una torta de filtraci\u00f3n, de modo que solo pueden pasar las part\u00edculas muy finas.<\/p>\n<p>El metal fundido fluye a trav\u00e9s de la torta de filtraci\u00f3n y entra en el canal sinuoso de la capa inferior. El mecanismo de la filtraci\u00f3n por espuma consiste en cambiar la direcci\u00f3n del metal fundido en numerosas ocasiones y reducir el caudal, lo que hace que las part\u00edculas m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as se adhieran a la superficie del filtro por su parte interior.
