Uno de estos procesos es el denominado \u00abfiltro de espuma cer\u00e1mica\u00bb para la filtraci\u00f3n de metal fundido, que se ha convertido en el proceso m\u00e1s avanzado, especialmente en las operaciones de fundici\u00f3n de aluminio.<\/p>\n<p>La fabricaci\u00f3n de productos de aluminio de alta calidad requiere complejos procesos de tratamiento de la masa fundida, especialmente ante la creciente importancia que se concede al reciclaje y la sostenibilidad. La filtraci\u00f3n es un proceso habitual para eliminar las inclusiones no met\u00e1licas del aluminio, y los filtros de espuma cer\u00e1mica (CFF) se utilizan habitualmente como medio filtrante.<\/p>\n<p>Se estudi\u00f3 el comportamiento de humectaci\u00f3n entre el aluminio l\u00edquido y un sustrato compuesto por filtros de espuma cer\u00e1mica (CFF) industriales a base de Al\u2082O\u2083 y SiC. El mismo filtro CFF tambi\u00e9n se someti\u00f3 a ensayo en un experimento de filtraci\u00f3n a escala industrial. Los resultados del experimento de humectaci\u00f3n muestran que el material filtrante a base de SiC presenta un mejor efecto de humectaci\u00f3n sobre el aluminio l\u00edquido que el material filtrante a base de Al\u2082O\u2083. Esto indica que la mejora en la humectaci\u00f3n del aluminio sobre el material filtrante supone una ventaja a la hora de que el metal fundido penetre en el filtro durante la colada.
