La longueur du canal transversal est r\u00e9duite, ce qui am\u00e9liore le processus de coul\u00e9e. Le filtre en fibre a pour fonction de r\u00e9duire la turbulence du m\u00e9tal en fusion ; toutefois, sa r\u00e9sistance aux hautes temp\u00e9ratures et ses autres propri\u00e9t\u00e9s ne sont pas aussi bonnes que celles du filtre en c\u00e9ramique. Le filtre en c\u00e9ramique est privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 par les fonderies pour des raisons de praticit\u00e9, de fiabilit\u00e9, de qualit\u00e9 et de prix. Les meilleurs mat\u00e9riaux de filtration sont utilis\u00e9s pour \u00e9liminer les d\u00e9fauts des pi\u00e8ces moul\u00e9es : mullite, cordi\u00e9rite, silicium \u00e0 haute teneur en aluminium,
