La vitesse d'oxydation augmente avec la temp\u00e9rature et est nettement plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e dans l'aluminium fondu que dans l'aluminium solide. Les \u00e9l\u00e9ments r\u00e9actifs contenus dans les alliages, tels que le magn\u00e9sium, le strontium, le sodium, le calcium, le b\u00e9ryllium et le titane, jouent \u00e9galement un r\u00f4le dans la formation d\u2019oxyde. Tant \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat fondu qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat solide, l\u2019oxyde form\u00e9 \u00e0 la surface pr\u00e9sente des avantages en termes d\u2019autolimitation et constitue une barri\u00e8re \u00e0 la diffusion et \u00e0 la dissolution de l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne. La turbulence induite entra\u00eene toutefois l\u2019entra\u00eenement de particules d\u2019oxyde, qui r\u00e9sistent \u00e0 la s\u00e9paration par gravit\u00e9 car leur densit\u00e9 est similaire \u00e0 celle de l\u2019aluminium fondu. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alalloycasting.com\/fr\/oxide-removal-flux\/\">Flux d'\u00e9limination des oxydes<\/a> sont des flux destin\u00e9s \u00e0 la s\u00e9paration et \u00e0 l'\u00e9limination des oxydes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Formation d'oxyde<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Les oxydes se forment par oxydation directe \u00e0 l'air, par r\u00e9action avec la vapeur d'eau ou par r\u00e9action aluminothermique avec des oxydes d'autres m\u00e9taux, tels que le fer ou le silicium, pr\u00e9sents dans les outils et les mat\u00e9riaux r\u00e9fractaires. L'oxyde d'aluminium est polymorphe, mais \u00e0 la temp\u00e9rature du m\u00e9tal fondu, les formes d'oxyde que l'on rencontre couramment sont cristallines et de types vari\u00e9s selon l'exposition, la temp\u00e9rature et la dur\u00e9e. Certaines formes cristallographiques d'oxyde affectent l'aspect et la coloration des pi\u00e8ces moul\u00e9es, sans autres effets significatifs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>S\u00e9paration et \u00e9limination des oxydes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Il est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement n\u00e9cessaire de traiter les masses fondues d\u2019aluminium et de ses alliages afin d\u2019\u00e9liminer les mati\u00e8res non m\u00e9talliques en suspension. Cela s\u2019effectue habituellement \u00e0 l\u2019aide de flux solides ou gazeux chimiquement actifs contenant du chlore, du fluor, des chlorures et\/ou des fluorures. C'est pourquoi les bains de fusion contenant du magn\u00e9sium sont souvent prot\u00e9g\u00e9s par l'ajout de sels formant des couches liquides, le plus souvent du chlorure de magn\u00e9sium, \u00e0 la surface du bain. Ces fondants, appel\u00e9s \u00ab fondants de recouvrement \u00bb, doivent \u00eatre retir\u00e9s et remplac\u00e9s p\u00e9riodiquement.
