Al\u00e9m de ser utilizado como agente de cobertura, sua fun\u00e7\u00e3o mais importante \u00e9 a de agente refinador e modificador.<\/p>\n<p>Os requisitos b\u00e1sicos do fundente para fundi\u00e7\u00f5es s\u00e3o: o ponto de fus\u00e3o deve ser inferior ao do alum\u00ednio e das ligas de alum\u00ednio, e sua densidade deve ser menor que a do alum\u00ednio e das ligas de alum\u00ednio.
