O molde de fundi\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 feito de materiais met\u00e1licos, como ferro fundido, a\u00e7o carbono ou a\u00e7o de baixa liga. Sob a a\u00e7\u00e3o da gravidade, o metal fundido preenche a cavidade do molde met\u00e1lico e \u00e9 resfriado para formar uma pe\u00e7a fundida. A fundi\u00e7\u00e3o em molde permanente pode utilizar n\u00facleos met\u00e1licos ou n\u00facleos de areia, em vez de n\u00facleos met\u00e1licos dif\u00edceis de extrair. O molde met\u00e1lico pode ser reutilizado v\u00e1rias vezes. A pe\u00e7a fundida apresenta uma estrutura compacta, boas propriedades mec\u00e2nicas, al\u00e9m de boa precis\u00e3o e qualidade de superf\u00edcie.<\/p>\n<h2>Fundi\u00e7\u00e3o em molde permanente<\/h2>\n<p>Os moldes permanentes produzem grandes quantidades de pe\u00e7as com dimens\u00f5es repet\u00edveis, utilizando moldes usinados a partir de alum\u00ednio fundido. Em contrapartida, os moldes de cera perdida e de areia s\u00e3o destru\u00eddos durante a remo\u00e7\u00e3o da pe\u00e7a. E, durante a fundi\u00e7\u00e3o sob press\u00e3o, o metal fundido \u00e9 injetado nas matrizes sob press\u00f5es extremamente altas. Consequentemente, as matrizes devem ser projetadas para suportar essas press\u00f5es, o que aumenta drasticamente o custo em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com os moldes permanentes de enchimento por gravidade.<\/p>\n<p>As pe\u00e7as fundidas em molde permanente podem ser produzidas com microestruturas uniformes e n\u00e3o porosas, mas essas qualidades dependem fortemente das taxas de solidifica\u00e7\u00e3o e do projeto dos moldes de fundi\u00e7\u00e3o.
