O primeiro cont\u00e9m s\u00f3dio (Na), e o NaCl-KCl equimolar forma um eut\u00e9tico de baixo ponto de fus\u00e3o a 665 \u00b0C, que exerce um forte efeito de umecta\u00e7\u00e3o sobre o Al\u2082O\u2083. Geralmente utilizado em ligas que n\u00e3o s\u00e3o sens\u00edveis a elementos de Na, ele \u00e9 a base da maioria dos fundentes; o segundo, como <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alalloycasting.com\/pt\/sodium-free-refining-agent\/\">Fluxo sem Na<\/a>, \u00e9 a base dos fundentes para ligas de alum\u00ednio com alto teor de Mg. A mistura de KCl e MgCl\u2082 apresenta um ponto de fus\u00e3o baixo, entre 424 e 465 \u2103.<\/p>\n<p>A fim de aumentar o efeito de separa\u00e7\u00e3o entre a esc\u00f3ria e o alum\u00ednio, melhorar a tens\u00e3o superficial do fundente e aprimorar sua capacidade de purifica\u00e7\u00e3o, s\u00e3o adicionados ao fundente aditivos como Na\u2083AlF\u2086 ou K\u2083AlF\u2086 e CaF.
