Aluminum Melt Refining in Furnace

Aluminum Melt Refining in Furnace

The aluminum melt refining in furnace is carried out in two steps:

The first step is pre-refining in the melting furnace. When the chemical composition and temperature of the aluminum alloy liquid in the melting furnace meet the requirements, the high-purity argon gas is used as the carrier to pass the refining agent into the aluminum melt for pre-refining to remove most of the oxide inclusions and dissolved hydrogen in the melt.

The second step is refining in the holding furnace. When the melt is introduced into the holding furnace, after the temperature reaches the required temperature, the high-purity argon gas is used as a carrier to pass the refining agent into the aluminum melt, and the refining tube is used to move back and forth in different parts of the melt to ensure the uniformity of the melt refining.

During the refining process, the refining gas pressure should be adjusted and the depth of the refining tube immersed in the molten aluminum. It also should be controlled to ensure that the molten aluminum tossing height is less than 50 mm, and the oxidation slagging and gas absorption of the molten alloy during the refining process should be controlled to a minimum.

After the refining is completed, the slagging agent calculated in advance is added to the alloy liquid, the slagging is stirred, and the solution is covered with sodium and calcium-free covering agent. After standing for 15-20 minutes, the aluminum alloy round ingot can cast.

AdTech is dedicated to research and development, production and marketing of fluxes for molten aluminum refining. AdTech fluxes utilize unique technology to enhance the traditional degassing and deslagging effect, and this technology applies to the furnace refining process.

AdTech fluxes for aluminum melting are smoke-free and dust-free when it is placed, improving the production environment of employees and protecting their health. AdTech aluminum casting fluxes completely eliminate the corrosion of plant equipment and reduces hidden costs. Keep the furnace, launder, and online degassing equipment free of slag accumulation. Significantly reduce the load of flue gas dust removal equipment and reduce the operating cost of environmental protection equipment. The slag and aluminum separation effect is good, which can greatly reduce the aluminum content in the slag.
