Ceramic Foam Filter Sealing

Ceramic Foam Filter Sealing

The ceramic foam filter plate is designed as a disposable item, so it is necessary to provide an effective way to seal the filter plate in its holder, so as to be easy to assemble, disassemble and clean. The molten metal filter system itself is usually a component of the filter box and filter plate, etc., and should be made of refractory material resistant to molten metal, similar to the refractory material used in the standard tank structure. Use an elastic sealing device or a gasket-type seal to seal the ceramic foam filter plate in place.

The ceramic foam filter plate is surrounded by a sealing liner, which acts on the contact surface of the filter plate and the filter box to prevent the aluminum liquid from leaking through the contact surface.

Our filter plate adopts three different specifications of sealing gasket: fiber paper edge; fiber cotton edge; expanded cotton edge.

The seal surrounds the filter plate at its inclined part. The gasket seal ensures that there is no leakage in the installation and provides an effective separation medium, which is essential for easy disassembly.

In addition, since gaskets or sealing devices prevent metal from entering the sealing surface of the holder unit, their use greatly simplifies cleaning and effectively extends the life of the unit by eliminating the problem of metal corrosion.

In addition, due to its elasticity, the gasket can provide sufficient friction to hold the filter body in place in the holder or filter chamber without resorting to other types of pressing devices. The elastic sealing device should deal with the specific molten metal that does not wet the metal, is resistant to chemical corrosion, and is fire-resistant enough to withstand higher operating temperatures.

Ceramic Foam Filter Sealing

The ceramic foam filter unit can be sealed at its edges and/or around its large surface by gaskets. The plate filter unit is preferably sealed along the inclined outer peripheral surface of the filter plate by an edge-type seal, thereby providing a reliable seal, and together with the gasket provides the mechanical advantage of keeping the filter in place.

If simple press-fitting is not enough to fix the filter in place, naturally various mechanical equipment, such as wedges and compacting weights. The chamfer angle and the filter plate corresponding to the chamfer angle filter chamber tend to form a reliable seal, and resist the buoyancy acting on it to fix the filter in a proper position.
