Feeding Caster Tip

Feeding caster tip is used for crystallization and size control of aluminum strip and foil blank in aluminum strip casting.

Feeding caster tip is very important to adjust the opening of caster and the shape of adjusting plate, which can be reused in the production of aluminum products. Therefore, it has a great impact on product quality.

In the prior art, the ceramic fiber castertip includes an upper splint at the upper part of the casting nozzle and a lower clamping plate at the lower part of the casting nozzle. The upper splint and the lower splint clamp the casting nozzle through threaded connection.

The effect of Adtech high aluminum casting nozzle on casting speed, nozzle cavity outlet height and total length of cavity was studied.

The numerical simulation results of variable density and constant density melts are compared. The flow field and temperature field distribution of high temperature shallow aluminum melt are revealed. It is concluded that the numerical simulation should adopt three-dimensional model.

The melt flow direction and exit temperature increase with the increase of casting speed. The uniformity of melt exit temperature and cavity velocity can be improved by changing the inlet velocity distribution.

The uniformity of velocity distribution and temperature distribution can be improved by changing the number of splitter blocks.

The uniform velocity and temperature distribution can be obtained by properly reducing the opening of the cavity.

Increasing the length of cavity can obtain more uniform velocity distribution and temperature distribution at melt exit.

In practical engineering application, it is reasonable to regard variable density as constant density. The results of numerical simulation and analysis provide an important basis for the optimal matching parameters of continuous casting and rolling, especially for rapid casting.

The surface temperature of castertip was measured by Adtech, and the related data were collected. The results show that the numerical simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental data.
