In 1978, the American company first successfully prepared CFF for aluminum alloy casting by using the organic foam impregnation method, and promoted it to the world.

CFF for aluminum alloy has a unique three-dimensional connected network skeleton structure, with a through porosity of up to 80% to 90%, strong adsorption capacity, low filtration resistance, and high filtration efficiency. It can be effective through filter cake effect, deep bed effect and rectifying scum effect. Filter out the large slag inclusions and micron-level (10-40m) fine inclusions in the molten aluminum. By reducing the number of effective crystal nuclei in the molten aluminum, the molten aluminum can nucleate and grow under larger supercooling conditions. The grain structure is refined and the sensitivity to internal defects of the alloy is reduced.

Through alumina ceramic foam filter filtering, the alkali metal and alkaline earth metal inclusions harmful to the casting structure can be removed. At the same time, by filtering out solid inclusions, the content of parasitic gas is reduced and the level of tissue pinholes is improved.

Regularize the aluminum liquid flow, adjust the flow rate, reduce the turbulence of the filling, reduce the high temperature viscosity of the melt by filtering out inclusions, improve the fluidity, increase the filling and feeding capacity, reduce casting defects, reduce the rejection rate, and significantly increase The fatigue strength, compression and sealing properties, elongation and tensile strength of the castings improve the surface finish, while simplifying the design of the gating system and shortening the length of the runner.

  2. It has good high temperature chemical stability, is not affected by the acid and alkalinity of the molten metal, and has sufficient room temperature and high temperature mechanical strength, so that it can withstand vibration during transportation, extrusion and impact of high temperature melt during use; It does not soften, deform, slag or break under the long-term action of high-temperature melt, ensuring the filtering quality of the melt.
  3. It has high dimensional accuracy, convenient installation, removal, and preheating, and can be combined with other purification methods to facilitate the realization of multi-stage combined filtration.
  4. Has a secondary alloying effect.
