Fluxes for Aluminum

Fluxes for Aluminum

In the process of aluminum and aluminum alloy smelting, in addition to its own inclusions, aluminum can easily generate alumina or sub-alumina with oxygen, resulting in a layer of scum on the surface of the aluminum liquid, which has a certain degree of wettability with the aluminum melt. There is a considerable amount of melt in the mixture, so refining fluxes for aluminum are needed to change the wettability of the two, increase the surface tension at the interface between the slag and aluminum, and separate the slag and aluminum.

Fluxes for aluminum and aluminum alloys are generally composed of chlorides and fluorides of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals, but the content of the components is quite different, and the effects are also different. In addition to using the fluxes produced by AdTech, it is best to adjust the flux composition ratio according to the composition of the aluminum alloy to be smelted. At the same time, strictly control the refining process conditions, such as the amount of flux, contact time between the flux and the melt, contact area, stirring condition, temperature, etc. The use of refining agents can effectively reduce aluminum in the slag and reduce casting losses.

AdTech’s refined flux is dedicated to the research and development, production and marketing of refined flux for degassing and slagging of molten metal in the aluminum alloy casting process. AdTech’s refining flux uses unique technology to enhance the traditional degassing and slag removal effects, and this technology is suitable for the casting process of many series of aluminum alloy products, such as micron aluminum foil, printed PS substrates, canned materials, elastic packaging materials, Railway transportation, aerospace products, cables and wires and other cast aluminum purification.

The general refining method is to manually sprinkle the refining agent into the furnace, and then perform stirring and refining. However, for some alloy production, nitrogen blowing refining is required (the refining time is longer, up to 30 minutes), and there must be a certain blowing height And the horizontal to the side, the vertical to the head, drive the huge fluctuation of the liquid aluminum, so it is best to adjust the nitrogen pressure and control the bubble height to 10-15mm.
